Old world charm of the hotel; not just another chain hotel. Very comfortable.
Excellent breakfast and good bartender.
Le Richelieu is conveniently located in the French Quarter to shopping, dinning and sightseeing locations.
The Richelieu is at an excellent location within the French quarter. It is close to Bourbon Street and Jackson Square but it is on a quiet corner and the building has a lot of character, better than a chain hotel!
With the exception of the 2 younger ladies at the front desk, the other staff was not too friendly, they hardly smiled and it really took away from the experience, a simple smile can go a long way!
I loved the location as well as the character of the hotel. It was quaint and quiet.
I did not like that there was no room service during in the week.
I liked the character of the hotel - slightly old-fashioned style of room and very comfortable. The hotel staff were all very friendly and incredibly helpful. The hotel is in a very peaceful part of the French Quarter - close enough to the centre of things, but away from the noise and crowds.
This is only a minor point but I like to be able to make a cup of tea or coffee in my room and there were no facilities for this at Le Richelieu.
Staff friendly. Courtyard is beautiful and the pool located in the courtyard is great. There is a tiny cafe with one wall that is glass looking directly onto the pool/courtyard. The bar adjoining the cafe area was great. Bar looked authentic original New Orleans. Bathroom was very clean but it may be time to replace the tile on the floor. Bed was comfortable. Parking is onsite which is very unusual for French Quarter. Now they charge $20 to park and it used to be free. This is our third or fourth time to stay there over the last few years. Quiet area but only takes a minute to get to French Market and other parts of the Quarter. Overall, recommend it.
Beautiful Rooms. Pool is great. Located close to Frenchman Street and walking distance of the entire French Quarter.
Paid $260 a night for a king suite and the a/c in the living room was ancient and the room was so hot we couldn't use it. The hotel staff told us "well, it's a 150 year old building". For those prices you would think they could replace the a/C. Food was too expensive, $14.00 for a bowl of oatmeal, biscuit and juice. I didn't like having to leave the key at the front desk every time we left the hotel. I would recommend it to others if they get the a/c fixed and eat somewhere else. The hotel itself was lovely.
The location and service was excellent. Close to all the attractions in the French Quarter.
Mattress on the bed was too hard and we had some very noisey neighbors in the room beside us the first night. The rooms could use some updating..but were quaint.
This hotel was elegant, intimate, and friendly. Our room was comfortable and spacious, and what looked like a closet turned out to have a kitchenette inside. I loved the linen closet in the bathroom with plenty of towels and real Kleenex--it made me never want a typical hotel room again. The staff were particularly warm and helpful.
This hotel was very quaint and located in a very convenient location. The hotel staff was excellent. The hotel had a a bar and served breakfast which I loved. They also had a pool which was great becUse the humidity was almost unbearable.I Would definatley stay here again.
The only thing I did not like was that it was located a little further down then most hotels in the French quarter, but cabs run in the area so it works out.
It was a lovely charming hotel in a superb location, close to shopping, bars and restaurants and the infamous Bourbon St but far away enough to be really quiet and peaceful. Great value for money as well. New Orleans best kept secret!
Perfect combination -- around the corner from the music spots on Frenchmen Street, but quiet and safe when I wanted to sleep or be alone. All the staff were as pleasant and helpful as could be.
Business travelers nowadays are accustomed to WiFi in their rooms. If not possible in the room, perhaps the hotel could open a WiFi spot in the lobby.
Hotel is older and could use some updating, but the pool and patio was grand. Security is very top notch!
No coffee pot!
The location was convenient to all the attractions of the French Quarter, but still in a very quiet neighborhood. It was quiet inside the hotel as well. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The staff was very helpful and friendly.
The shower wasn't that good. The water pressure was low. And one night the water didn't drain out so I had to call the front desk. They sent someone right away to unclog it, so I can't complain about the service.
