This was my first trip to nola in twenty years, so I wasn't sure what to expect. The hotel was beautiful and the rooms were quaint and very, very clean. The weather was very hot and humid, but the a/c worked great. The staff was very friendly and the gentleman behind the front desk referred to me by name every time he saw me. Also, the location is perfect for the French Quarter, two blocks from Bourbon Street and two blocks from the French Market. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone. I know that we will stay there again, on our next visit. John from Carrollton, tx.
The only thing I would do different next time is ask for a room with a view.
The hotel was old and very beautiful. I loved the location with walkingdistance to "everything". It was very quiet an peaceful at night. Nice swimmingpool. The room was a lovely, big flat with a big refridgerater, a lovely big bed, nice livingroom, plenty og space. The staff at the frontdesk was vey helpful and friendly. A big, free guarded carpark.
I missed the possipility to make tea and coffee in the room. We had some problems with the toilet witch was not very nice. It took too long to get it fixed though we told the staff several times.
The hotel was really charming. All of the staff was friendly and very helpful. A group of 10 stayed at the hotel and everyone came away with a good feeling....we will stay at the Richelieu again and also recommend it to others. Actually I did. A women walking in front of the hotel asked me how my stay went since she was thinking about staying there in June. Told her I enjoyed my stay and the Richelieu is a great choice. By the way it is not haunted....i checked it out!
Not happy with the bed or pillows.
The easy access off I-10 to a complimentary parking lot behind the hotel was a bonus. We were able to walk to everything and never moved the car until it was time to depart. The safe location made it nice to be out after dark and not feel threatened.
Great location, close to The French Market, a few blocks from Jackson Square and the locals scene on Frenchmen Street. Quiet, comfortable and parking is available.
convienient location; good price; free parking
location of the hotel was awesome. very close to everything! also nice to have free parking at the hotel.
the free wi-fi did not work throughout the hotel. the rooms and hallways smelled a bit old and musty.
Lovely hotel. Great location. Very kind and helpful desk staff. Nice restaurant on site. Had a really nice room with view and balcony. Cozy and perfect for 25th wedding anniversary trip.
Excellent Location near the French Market. Free guarded Parking at the Hotel! The description for the interior "Liberace on a subdued day". Nice European flair.
Stayed 9/9/10 & 9/10/10. Room 320, suite with kitchen, dining area, living room area, bathroom, walk in closet, separate king bedroom. A little over $200 a night. Great location, right in the French Quarter. Free parking!!!!!!! Quiet, clean, old world charm. Bar & small restaurant on site. Friendly, knowledgeable, helpful staff great with suggestions on where to eat. Within walking distance of everything - Bourbon St, Frenchman St, Jackson Square, French Market, the wharf, museums, tons of great restaurants, and lots of shopping. Taxi usually right outside the door.
If you use the front desk to book tours, make sure & read the brochures before you book. You can save a ton of money per person if you drive yourself, instead of being picked up at the hotel (if you drive or rent a car in NOLA).
Perfect location for French Quarter; easy access from and to interstate; parking behind the hotel; friendly staff.
Very old-fashioned air conditioning; no coffee-maker in room.
I loved the feeling of being in a small hotel that was very comfortable and with great New Orleans ambiance. The restaurant was excellent for breakfast (the only meal I ate there) and the bar was wonderful! The guests met often in the bar and visited while drinking excellent, very reasonably priced drinks. Loved the bartender.
My room was very comfortable but the shower was really below par.
The lobby was opulent. The pool was great. Morning coffee hit the spot.Staff members were extremely helpful in directions and suggestions for visiting.
Rooms were small. Didn't like paying for parking. This added to the price of the room which didn't make it such a bargain after all.
Great atmospheric hotel in good location, breakfast disappointing.
Fabulous old-style hotel in the heart of the French Quarter. Gracious staff, extremely obliging and courteous. The building oozes history and style.
There was nothing to dislike!
